ACTIVATING SIM CARD & DATA PACKAGES

The Wraptel Data SIM must be activated/enabled before a Data Package can be assigned

After receiving your Wraptel Data SIM:

  1. Login to your Online User Account
  2. Go to 'My Account' -> 'Activate Data SIM'
  3. Fill in the ICCID and PUK numbers. These numbers are found on the back of the SIM Card
  4. Click 'Activate SIM' button at the bottom.

This step is required only once for new SIM Cards.

Enabling the Data SIM Card is required for Data Packages to work.

It can take up to 24 hours to enable the SIM Card

Data Package activation guideline:

A prepaid Data Package is required to activate & use data.

It can take up to 24 hours after purchase for Wraptel to assign the Data Package to your SIM Card. To confirm that the Data Package has been added to your SIM Card see 'Data Packages' in your Online user account.

Once the Data Package has been assigned to your Data SIM it is ready for activation.

Inserting the SIM Card into your device will activate the data package and begin the consumption period of your data.

We recommend activating the Data SIM in your device only when arriving at your travel destination. Refunds do not apply if you activate the Data SIM Card in your device on the incorrect day or incorrect time period.

HOW TO USE

To Top Up or add a Data Package to your Data SIM:

  1. Login to your online user account
  2. Go to 'Buy Unlimited Data Plan'
  3. Purchase the Unlimited Data Plan (ensure to add the SIM ICCID number when ordering. The SIM ICCID number can be found in your online user account under 'SIM Cards').
  4. An email confirmation will be sent after your purchase.
  5. It can take up to 24 hours to assign the Data package to your Data SIM.
  6. To confirm that the Data Package has been assigned to your SIM card, view 'Data Packages' in your online account.
  7. Once the Data Package has been assigned to your Data SIM it is ready for use. Inserting the SIM Card into your device will activate the data package and begin the consumption period of your data.

We recommend activating the Data SIM in your device only when arriving at your travel destination.

When arriving at your destination,  insert the SIM Card into your device; please wait for several minutes for the setup to automatically complete.

The device should display the signal and carrier name. When the device displays the signal and carrier name, try to use the internet service.

If you fail to access the internet, please power the device OFF then back ON. You can also switch airplane mode OFF and then back ON. Should the internet still not connect then setup the APN manually or select the network operator manually.

Unlimited Data Packages

The Unlimited Data Packages will be counting continuously once activated in your device. Inserting the Data SIM Card in your device will begin the consumption period of the Unlimited Data package.

For example, if the data plan that is purchased is a Europe - Unlimited Data 5 day package, and the Data SIM is activated in your device on 1 Oct 2018 (10am; GMT+8), the expiry date will be 6 Oct 2018 (10am; GMT+8). Every 24 hours will be counted as 1 day.
 

Multiple Plans are not allowed on the Data SIM. Only (1) one Data Package can be used at a time.

International Data SIM Card & Data Packages

The Wraptel International Data SIM Card expires after 1 year of inactivity. You can add Data Packages at any time during the 1 year period. Each purchase of a Data Package will reset the expiry of the Data SIM to 1 year.

The data package is valid for 6 months after purchase. All unused data packages will expire six (6) months after purchase, unless otherwise stated.

The SIM card supports data service only.

Please note that we use Paypal as our merchant processor and Wraptel Inc. will never hold or see your financial details.You can Checkout with major Credit Cards, Visa Debit or PayPal Express (You will be transferred to a Paypal Checkout Page - Please select the Pay by Credit Card Button if you are paying by credit card).

Before 3PM EST: Orders received before 3PM will be shipped the same day they are placed.

After 3PM EST: Orders received after 3PM will be shipped the next business day.

The Wraptel International Data SIM card does work in Japan and South Korea.

These countries use 3G/WCDMA networks, so only phones with the specific 3G/WCDMA/HSDPA/UMTS 2100 frequency will work in these countries.

Yes, your phone does need to be unlocked.

Phone unlocking refers to removing the network restrictions on a phone so that it can be used with a SIM card from a different network. If you're unsure of whether or not your phone is unlocked, contact your mobile service provider. Your home cellular service provider can unlock your phone for you. You can find information about your carrier's unlock policies by visiting their website or calling their support line. The answer is Yes and No, it depends.

If you have a World Phone from Verizon or Sprint then yes, you can use it with the Wraptel SIM.

The World Phones from Verizon or Sprint must be dual-mode CDMA/GSM. Most current smart phones have the GSM radio frequency and will work with an alternate SIM Card when traveling abroad. You can request Verizon and Sprint to unlock the GSM portion of the phone for international travel; which is the SIM Card slot on the phone where you will insert the Wraptel SIM.

If you have a Verizon or Sprint Phone that is CDMA only then unfortunately it will not work with the Wraptel SIM or any alternate SIM Card. The Wraptel SIM requires an unlocked GSM capable phone.

The Wraptel SIM Card is available in Standard, Micro & Nano SIM Card sizes. The SIM Card arrives as a triple cut out SIM; you decide to break it as a Standard SIM, Micro SIM or Nano SIM.

It is compatible with unlocked GSM devices including: iPhones, Android phones, Windows Mobile phones, as well as iPads & Android tablets.

The Wraptel SIM does not alter the functionality of your device or regular SIM card.

When the SIM Card is  inserted all of your data will be on network providers where Wraptel offers service.

When you return home and put your regular home SIM back into your phone, your regular service will resume as normal.
